Total Staff is recruiting on behalf of a leading provider of student accommodation in Bristol, dedicated to providing safe and comfortable living spaces for students. We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Handyperson to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.

Role Overview:
As a Maintenance Handyperson, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our student accommodation facilities. You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks ranging from basic repairs and maintenance to assisting with larger refurbishment projects. The role requires a proactive and versatile individual who can efficiently address maintenance issues and provide exceptional service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
Conducting routine inspections of buildings and facilities to identify maintenance issues and repair needs.
Performing minor repairs and general maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
Responding promptly to maintenance requests from residents and resolving issues in a timely manner.
Assisting with larger maintenance projects and refurbishments as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Conducting regular checks of equipment and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory of supplies.
Adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Providing occasional on-call support during weekends on a rotational basis, with additional allowances and pay provided.

Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within the property management or student accommodation sector.
Strong practical skills with the ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, colleagues, and contractors.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to work safely at all times.
Flexibility to work weekends on a rotational basis, with additional allowances and pay provided.
Full driving license preferred.
