About the Role
Total Staff Services, on behalf of our client a leading provider of modern student accommodation in Oxford are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade Operative. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson with a broad range of maintenance abilities who takes pride in delivering a high standard of work.
You will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and general upkeep of student accommodation facilities, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting/decorating, and general building works.
Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health & safety regulations.
Support with emergency call-outs when required.
Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any major issues to management.
Work collaboratively with the facilities and accommodation team to provide excellent service to students.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a multi-trade/maintenance role (student accommodation, residential, or commercial setting desirable).
Competent in at least two core trades (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling, basic electrical).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Awareness of health & safety practices.
Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential.
