Position Overview: We are currently seeking motivated General Operatives to join our client's team based in Thingwall, Wirral. As a General Operative, you will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of the garden centre's operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the receiving, handling, and storage of plant products and gardening supplies.
Support the maintenance and upkeep of the garden centre, including watering plants, weeding, and tidying outdoor and indoor areas.
Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Help customers locate products and provide basic information and assistance as needed.
Operate basic machinery and equipment, such as wheelbarrows and hand tools, safely and effectively.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in designated work areas, including storage areas and outdoor displays.
Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Assist with special events or promotions as required, including set-up and breakdown.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
Interest in plants and gardening, with a willingness to learn about different plant varieties and care techniques.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused approach.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
Salary, Shifts and Benefits:
Pay rate of £11.44 per hour.
Working hours- 08.00-16.30 Monday to Friday.
